The information we collect

• details of painting, decorating or maintenance services you have requested, received or enquired about, and our response to you;
• your preferences, opinions and other information you include in an enquiry, feedback or review;
• records required for quotes, contracts, invoicing, payments and business administration;
• limited device, browser, network, page-view, referral and website interaction information processed when you use our website; and
• other personal information you provide to us directly, or that an authorised third party provides on your behalf.

How we collect personal information

We collect personal information directly from you when you use our contact form, request a quote, communicate with us by telephone or email, engage us to provide services, or otherwise deal with us.

We may also collect information indirectly through your use of our website, from a person authorised to act for you, or from publicly available sources where permitted by law.

Our website contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help identify automated or abusive submissions. Cloudflare may process technical information about your browser, device and network for this purpose.

How we use personal information

We may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to:

• respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and provide our painting, decorating and maintenance services;
• contact and communicate with you about our services and your project;
• manage scheduling, contractors, customer service, records, invoicing and payments;
• operate, protect, analyse and improve our website, services and business;
• resolve complaints and disputes, enforce agreements and protect our legal rights; and
• comply with our legal obligations or as otherwise required or authorised by law.

You do not have to provide us with personal information. However, if you do not provide information we reasonably need, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote or provide our services.

Disclosure to third parties

We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to:

• our employees, contractors and subcontractors involved in providing services to you;
• IT, web-hosting, email-delivery, data-storage, analytics, accounting and other service providers that support our business;
• professional advisers, insurers, debt collectors and payment providers;
• a purchaser or prospective purchaser of all or part of our business or assets; and
• courts, tribunals, regulators and law-enforcement agencies where required or authorised by law.

Our website currently uses Cloudflare for hosting, security and form verification, Amazon Web Services Simple Email Service for enquiry delivery, and Plausible Analytics for privacy-focused website analytics.

Overseas disclosure

Some service providers may process or store information outside New Zealand. Before disclosing personal information overseas, we will take reasonable steps to comply with Information Privacy Principle 12, including by ensuring that an appropriate legal basis or comparable privacy safeguards apply.

Your rights and choices

Access and correction

Subject to the grounds for refusal in the Privacy Act, you may request access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Please contact our Privacy Officer using the details below.

Information about other people

If you provide us with personal information about another person, you must be authorised to do so and must make them aware of this Privacy Policy where appropriate.

Communications

You may ask us to stop sending non-essential communications at any time by contacting us or using any unsubscribe facility included in the communication.

Retention

We will retain personal information only for as long as it may lawfully be used or as otherwise required by law. We securely delete or anonymise information when we no longer need it.

Complaints

If you have a privacy complaint, please contact us with full details. We will investigate and respond to you. You may also complain to the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Storage and security

We take reasonable physical, technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, interference and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

No transmission or storage system is completely secure. Information transmitted to or from us over the internet is sent at your own risk.

Cookies and website analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregated website activity, including page views, referral sources, outbound link clicks, file downloads, form submissions and visits to missing pages. Plausible does not use analytics cookies or build individual visitor profiles for us.

Cloudflare may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies to provide security, prevent abuse and operate Turnstile. You can configure your browser to block cookies, but blocking essential technologies may prevent parts of the website or contact form from working correctly.

Links to other websites

Our website may link to websites operated by others. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Their own privacy policies apply to information you provide while visiting them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy by publishing an amended version on our website. We recommend checking this page periodically.
